BATU KAPAL CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES (ask us for prices)

Dawn, dusk, day or night walks for animal spotting as part of the Batu Kapal conservation animal surveying and monitoring program. approx 1.5 TO 2 hours
Help plant trees and bamboo as part of the Conservation Wildlife Biolink Project
Donate and plant a tree as part of the Batu Kapal Reforestation Program (donation 150.000 idr per tree with proceeds going back to the conservation program)

Traditional rice cooking in evening – prepare and cook rice in bamboo over fire

Stone carving demonstration and lesson. Find your own pebble in the river and design and make your own jungle pendant
4 hour river walk to local swimming hole along the river, swimming in water holes along the way with snack
Rock scrambling open caving adventure at Batu Kapal Cave ( 2-3 hours)
Nature and wildlife walk (3 hours) to look for birds, animals, monkeys and orangutans in the trees along the Landak River

All money received for participating in our conservation activities is donated to help buy plants, materials and equipment needed to continue the local community conservation and landcare program and our wildlife biolink projects.

Half day Sumatra tours and activities in the village (ask us for prices)

Market visit by motor bike on Fridays. On a Friday visit the traditional Gotong Royong rubber fruit and vegetable market. walk around the market learning about the local spices, fruits and vegetables and enjoy the hustle and bustle of people going about their weekly shopping. approx 2 hours
Village and ricefields tour by Motor Bike or Tuk Tuk. 3 hour tour of the villages and rice fields, visit cottage industries, such as rice hulling and drying, palm sugar, tofu, bamboo weaving, depending on what is happening on that day
Combined market and villages ricefields tour on Fridays by motor bike (approx 4 hours).
Jungle School and Sunshine Class. Visit our free English classes to help the kids learn English. By motor bike with guide. donation for volunteer school appreciated
Bat Cave 4 hour adventure. 45 min hike to the bat cave one way and explore this caving system
Tube rafting down the Bohorok River

River walk from Batu Kapal to the Selang Pangeran Waterfall (easy 1.5-2 hour walk one way. Fitness average), return at 5.00pm by motor bike.

Gelgur Hot springs 4wd day trip with lunch min. 2 people

Elephant washing and walking day trip to Tangkahan by car. min 2 people, buy your lunch at a local guest house. optional late morning activity tubing to local waterfall with lunch (extra cost 500.000 pp)

Totally Wild Jungle Treks – 1 to 3 days from Batu Kapal to Adi Back camp and Batu Gajah camp in the national park (Min 3 people. price depends on number of people and how many nights. please ask at bar).

Batu Rongring day trip to see 27M circumference tree and walk back along the stream through beautiful rock formations. Also Batu Rongring overnight trip with visit to 27m large tree and Glegur hotspring
